Sacred Stories and Texts:
Christianity has one main sacred text which is the Bible. However there are two other texts that are significant and they are the Revelation and Didache.
Bible:
The Bible is not just one book, but an entire library, with stories, songs, poetry, letters and history, as well as literature. The Christian Bible has two sections, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is the original Hebrew Bible, the sacred scriptures of the Jewish faith, written at different times between about 1200 and 165 BC. The New Testament books were written by Christians in the first century AD.
Old Testament:
The Hebrew Bible has 39 books, written over a long period of time, and is the literary archive of the ancient nation of Israel. All books written before Christs existence.
New Testament:
The New Testament has 27 books, written between about 50 and 100 AD, and falling naturally into two sections: the Gospels, which tell the story of Jesus (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and the Letters, written by various Christian leaders to provide guidance for the earliest church communities.

Revelation:
The Book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible, has fascinated and puzzled Christians for centuries. With its vivid imagery of disaster and suffering the Battle of Armageddon, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the hideous Beast whose number is 666, many have seen it as a map to the end the world.
Didache - First Christian Document:
The Didache is a Christian manual giving unique details regarding Baptism, Eucharist and church leadership from an early period of Christian development. A section of a document describes the process leading to the baptism of Gentiles wishing to convert to the Jesus movement.
